With 2 defeats and Chelsea up next, this is bordering on must win territory if we wan't to stay in and around the big boys?
I think the bum boys are in a bit of a rut and had the soppy crowd turned on them at the weekend. Fancy this will be a good game for us under the lights.

The Ogbonna injury has coincided with a couple of defeats. The Man City one we played pretty well albeit the problems of finishing / decision making in the final third are beginning to cost us. Against Wolves we struggled but that in part was down to Wolves dictating possession and even though we only had a handful of chances I can recall efforts from Bowen and Soucek that they should have done better with.
The squad and use of players is likely beginning to show now. I think I read West Ham have used the least players of all teams across the 5 top European leagues?
Brighton I watched last weekend and their previous game. They are another team that is excellent in possession. They keep the ball very well and of course, like Wolves, use the flanks well with Lamptey on the right who is very quick and Curcurella down the left. They are 2 of their best players. Bassouma in midfield is decent. Their issue is not dissimilar to ours .... finishing.
In short another very tough game. We have to, as Moyes is saying, take our chances. Its the first real test in a long while coming off the back of 2 defeats and a dip in form. Lose and it will become the proverbial "wheels coming off". Win or even draw would restore some confidence and belief that our "flaky" days are really behind us.
I gave up trying to guess as I usually get it wrong. There are so many variables. Just hope its not a referee decision, sending off and pen etc as 2 games I watched last night were decided that way.
What is sure is that just thinking its Brighton and we are at home is no guarantee of victory. They have become our bogey side for sure. Would be nice to turn them over for once.

Not optimistic for this or Saturday.
There will always be sticky points in a season and I think the last 2 and next 2 are them.
We seem to have lost a bit of momentum, Antonio’s form has left him and that sharpness going forward is lacking, then Zouma and Dawson have to develop their partnership. If Cresswell is out too then it’s going to be a tough ask.
Fucking hope I’m wrong - a win tonight would be a massive 3 points in our season.

An early goal and we win comfortably but the longer it stays at 0-0 the more confidence Brighton get that they can snatch a win.
I'm expecting Bowen, Antonio and Benrahma to up their games tonight.

We always struggle with this lot - have we beaten them since the championship??
They've not won in a while but they don't lose many either.
Hopefully Bowen and Coufal back in the starting XI.
Soucek has to be due a goal soon.
